How This Whole Community-Thing Works:

    Treatments take place upstairs in our second floor community-loft, a tranquil, open room furnished with eight comfortable recliners. In this setting, a collective healing energy is created, enhancing the effects of each treatment. Much like the synergy of a good yoga class, Community Acupuncture treatments leave you feeling connected, rejuvenated, inspired, and deeply supported.

    We treat in a community setting, meaning you will be in the room with up to 7 other people receiving treatment.  Confidentiality is always respected and protected, and we do offer private treatment rooms for consultations and treatments that require more privacy.  However, we also recognize the value of bringing your health care into the community, and letting go of the idea that it needs to be kept a big secret.  Everyone has health issues, and everyone needs support to overcome them. 

What To Expect During Your First Visit:

    Based on the medical history you provide, via a bedside interview, and the classical diagnostic methods of Pulse and Tongue reading, the practitioner determines a course of treatment and a set of points that will be needled.  We use mainly distal points, located below the elbows and knees, and also points on the head and ears.  Back pain, for example, can be effectively treated without ever needling the back.  Rather, we would choose points on the hands that correlate to the affected part of the body.  This also allows for very effective treatment that can be provided while the patient is fully clothed.

PLEASE NOTE: To optimize our patient’s time, we prefer not to schedule appointments over the phone, instead opting for an online system.
